My hope in creating Kindred Sparrow Counseling is that it can be a safe harbor to find support and tools to manage the storms of life. My hope is that I can be someone that can walk alongside you on your journey and provide the extra support you need to meet your goals.

In my practice, I use a range of therapeutic techniques, and I believe in working collaboratively to identify and establish therapeutic goals with individuals, children, families, and couples. professional experience

I have been working in community mental health since 2010 when I began my internship in Washington state. I also completed a post graduate certificate in Medical Family Therapy, which is an approach of bridging the gap between medical professionals and mental health professionals to better support physicians and their patients in meeting all their needs. I was able to complete a year long internship in a radiation oncology clinic providing mental health support and case management to patients who were currently undergoing cancer treatment or had recently completed their cancer treatment. I have worked with children of all ages and from a diverse range of family styles, including youth in the foster care system. I have also worked with adults in all the different stages of life in meeting their individual needs and supporting them in improving their own mental health. 

I worked in California from 2013 until 2020 as a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. I worked in several different departments for Butte County Behavioral Health. I worked for Crisis Services doing crisis assessments and psychiatric hospitalizations, including being stationed in an emergency room to conduct assessments on patients presenting to the emergency room with mental health needs. I also worked in youth mental health providing mental health services to youth in special education with IEPs. I also worked in administration as the clinician in charge of youth services in the entire county providing authorizations for services, records reviews, and coordination of services for foster youth in the county.

I started my private practice in 2017 working with youth and adults providing individual, family, and couple sessions. I currently work with clients in California and Washington providing counseling through telehealth.
